  • Start Time 9:00 am
  • Race check in will be from 7:30-8:30 the morning of the race at the start line, see directions
  • The first four miles will be along the Historic  Oregon Central Military Wagon road, smooth, fast and scenic. The course then winds along the river and crosses several streams. There are a few short and steep climbs and a few more gentle climbs. At five miles, you'll cross a spring with a sign to indigo springs, continue straight. One more mile of ups and downs will bring you to the first aid station at Chuckle springs. You will enter the burn area a 1/4 mile before the aid station.
  • You'll be in the burn area for another mile then a few modest ups and downs with a bit of exposure looking down into the river valley. You'll then have a couple fast miles including traversing a prairie. The second aid station will be at the 20 mile turn around. Cross the bridge for the aid station.
  • The course follows road 2153 for a hundred yards or so. You'll then turn back onto the trail for some sweet single track, winding along the river and crossing a creek. The trail crosses the river again and heads into an old growth grove called Paddy's Swamp (don't worry, there is no swamp on the course). Once the trail turns uphill, pace yourself for a couple-three miles of steady uphill. The river dwindles to a gurgle off in the bushes. You'll cross what is left of the river once more with a few boulders to hop across.  A half a mile before the turn around, you'll cross a road then cruise along an unnamed lake that actually feeds the river, although Timpanogas lake is the official headwaters. The turn around is at the Timpanogas Lake trail head.
  • Cutoff: Racers must leave the turn around before 1:00 or they will be pulled from the race and will be escorted back to the start by the aid station crew. There will also be cutoffs at FS 2143(3:00) and Chuckle springs(4:30). All racers must cross the fish line by 6:00 pm.
  • Drop bags will be available at the turn around and the road 2153 Aid Station. Drop bags must be labeled with the race distance and racer's bib number and dropped off at the start before 9:00 am race morning. Drop bags will be returned to the start after the last racer leaves the aid station. If you do use drop bags, you will be responsible for waiting for the bag to be returned to the start line.
  • Estimated total elevation gain is around 5,500 feet. See the elevation profile below.
  • The course is located in the Willamette National Forest.
